Which Winter Footwear To Choose
April 07, 2009 // Posted by: admin // Category: plus size women clothes, plus size women clothing, teen plus size clothing, wholesale plus size clothing, womens plus sizesAs summer disappears, so does the need to walk around bare foot or in skimpy, barely there sandals, exposing your feet to as much fresh air as possible. Winter brings with it socks, slippers and perpetual ice blocks at the ends of your legs. When it comes to winter, it will bring the new fashions and your pins will look cool without caring for the current weather.
It seems that this winter will be a great season for animal prints, ballerina flats and boots that will bring something more to the eclectic look. You’ll find ballerina flats in all types of materials and colors, with their round toes. And these animal prints, that come in velvet and metallics, are a big sellers this year. Something different then the typical flat shoes could be a low or even high, vamp heel with ankle ties.
Mary Jane’s are also in fashion, as is the colour red and the shiny patent look. The name Mary Jane is an American term for a strap shoe or sandal that has low heels, broad, rounded and closed toes and a buckle strap across the instep and/or around the ankle. Before they were made only of black patent leather, but now it’s a bit different. It is easy to find them in all kinds of materials and colors these days. Mary Jane’s were also primarily known as little girl’s shoes, and only occasionally as shoes for little boys. These are quite informal shoes for grown women, but at least there are more and more women who choose to wear them.
The Mary Jane’s of today have higher heels and platform soles, which makes them a bit different. Punk rockers and Goths adopted the shoes in particular, although some others would vamp up the “Lolita” look and wear them with high knit socks and a very short paid, pleated schoolgirl skirt.
The peep-toe shoe is one more trend that will flourish this winter. People who know something about this say that they are not a degree colder than our regular pumps, but I was assured that the feet would simply freeze in one of these.
As you can see, there are a lot of options for you when it comes to winter shoes. Choose what fits your style best and you will be ready for the cold winter days.
