Where can I get funky plus size clothes in England?

October 31, 2008  //  Posted by: admin  //  Category: plus size women clothes

I'm an American ex-pat, and in the states, there are places like Torrid, where you can get plus size clothes that aren't dowdy and boring, but it seems harder to find things like that in England. Even if the clothes are a cute design or pattern, they're so oversized, as if all plus sized women want to be covered head to toe! I'm going to Bluewater this week and I want to find some shops that have cool and different stuff. Thanks!
A size 16 or above.
Some of Evan's stuff is nice, but some of it, mostly the tops, are just so oversized, they always come down to like the crotch. I'm sort of considering buying some of Evan's cuter stuff, and then altering it a bit.
Had a look at the MK1 website, a lot of their stuff is cool. But why do companies think that all plus size women want really long clothes? I just don't understand that. It's not flattering!

Try Evans some of there stuff is pretty and cute designs, also there is a catologue out now called Simply Be – you should be able to find some funky stuff in there!

Hope this helps

What are some fashionable plus size clothing brands for women??

I know about lane bryant and all that stuff, but I like vintage-ish clothes….colorful and patterns. Any suggestions? Online stores are good too..i'm not picky. :)

Lane Bryant, Avenue, and Torrid are on the High End. (Torrid is more of a Gothic, rocker punk Sheik, owned by the same folk as Hot Topic.)

Ashley Stewart, Catherines, Gordmans (depending on what part of the U.S. ur in) are all mediocre priced.

Rainbow, Burlington Coat Factory, and Cato's are rather affordable.

I shop way too much. I love Cato's for shoes because they have nice shoes in 11.

My sis has problems finding cute clothes that fit. It is true that most stores in the malls etc have small sizes. Plus size clothes are for older women and are old fashioned. No mean answeres please.

DEB..that is a very good place..they have a juniors section and a plus size section. very stylish. very nice.

They don't ask for a sales tax permit, and there prices are just as high or higher then others!! There is nothing wholesale about these scam artist I keep finding! I am not worried about the cost, I just need to find a lefitimate wholesaler!!! I am looking for ones that might specialize in Plus Size Clothing…..But any wholesalers you know of, I would be greatful to hear of them!!! Anyway, it's late and I am tired….and I was hoping someone out here might be nice enough to share some answers with me…..I need one that doesn't pull up on a search engine easily, like the ones that I have found……Well thanks in advance for any help everyone!!! Goodnight

Try Los Angeles Garment District. Most of wholesalers carry plus size on a order based order only. But if your order is a large order (About 240 pcs/ style) they might make it for you. I'm also a wholesaler from LA but we only make goods on a order based basis. Most of the wholesalers are located in the garment district. You can't go wrong. Also try trade shows such as the Magic Show in Vegas or the Fame in NYC. There are also trade shows in Georgia, Miami and Texas
